So all of a sudden 10 years have gone by since high-school, and it's time for my high school reunion. Lisa (Constantini) Kimber, Leigh Dustin, and Alison Dunsterville did a super job organizing everything and getting in touch with everyone. An invite was sent out and on Friday afternoon I headed up to Vancouver. I got up to Pat's place at 7pm, and we headed out to get some dinner, but everywhere was packed, so we figured we'd get dinner at the first stop of the Grad Reunion weekend, the Vertical Restaurant. When we showed up we ran into Bryce, Sam, and Leigh which was pretty funky, as I hadn't seen any of them for pretty much 10 years. Soon enough the place started filling up with old PG-ers, and quite a blast ensued. I ran into alot of folks, I can't remember every one I saw, but it was an awful lot. I had actually ran into a quite few people two weeks before staying up at Pat's at Whistler (see here for photos and a bit of an adventure that we had) who were there - and it was cool to catch up with everyone. We ended up taking off around midnight I think and went over to a party over at Mike Toolan's and ended up leaving there at about 4:30am.
The next day I slept in until about 3:30pm, and by the time I was out of the shower people were already showing up at Pat's for a few pre-party drinks. Heather, Gill, Meaghan, Meaghan's husband Peter, Mike Toolan, Pat and I had a few beers and then headed over to Leigh's place for the party. I think there were alot more people there, but the night seemed a little tamer than the night before (or perhaps the novelty was beginning to wane), but it was still very cool. Most of the spouses didn't last too long, and I think around midnight or so the place started clearing out alot. We ended up swimming in the hot tub and the pool until about 2:30 and went home (comparably) early.
The next morning I slept in a bit, and ended up over at Lisa's. There were only about a dozen or so people there, the life of the party seemed to be Sadie's children who were quite a blast.
Lisa was saying that we'll probably have another reunion in 5 years, which is very cool. The mini school folks get together pretty much every Christmas for a Christmas party so those folks I see all the time, but I would like to stay in better contact with everyone else too!
